Kansas City-based Rufus Teague partnered with Missouri’s Own to release seasoning and gameday recipes.

Missouri’s Own, the award-winning brand known for celebrating the flavors of the Show-Me State, is bringing back its THC-infused BBQ seasoning for football season, and this year it comes with a playbook. Missouri’s Own has teamed up with Kansas City sauce and rub maker Rufus Teague to create a lineup of THC-infused recipes built for the ultimate tailgate. 

The recipes, designed to pair Rufus Teague’s barbecue know-how with Missouri’s Own’s precisely dosed seasoning, include: 

  • Smashed Burgers 
  • Grilled Flank Steak Pre-roll 
  • Glazed and Confused Pork Belly Burnt Ends 
  • Bacon Wrapped BBQ Blunts 
  • High-Lote Corn 

“Our team is full of diehard Chiefs fans, and we take our tailgating seriously,” said Boston Dickerson, CEO of Show-Me Organics, which operates Missouri’s Own alongside other popular brands like Vivid, Buoyant Bob and Blue Sage dispensaries. “Partnering with Rufus Teague helps us combine two of our favorite pregame activities— Kansas City BBQ and cannabis. ” 

The partnership came together behind the scenes. Missouri cannabis regulations now prohibit cannabis brands from co-branding products with non-THC brands, a rule that followed Missouri’s Own’s collaboration with Old Vienna on the Missouri’s Own Twice Baked Red Hot Riplets. As a result, the seasoning carries only the Missouri’s Own name, while the recipes showcase the Kansas City barbecue expertise that went into them. 

Each jar of Missouri’s Own BBQ Seasoning combines bold, smoky barbecue flavor with 100mg of THC, enough to season and share across an entire tailgate.
